The Week Before Your Actuarial Exam: Final Prep
A day-by-day guide for the final week of actuarial exam preparation.
Days 7 to 4: Targeted Review
Use the early part of the final week for targeted review of weak areas identified from practice exams. Take one more full practice exam on day 6 or 5. Review your formula sheet and summary notes daily. Do not try to learn new material at this point since the goal is consolidation, not expansion. Solve a mix of problems from across the syllabus to maintain breadth.
Days 3 to 1: Wind Down
Reduce study intensity progressively. Day 3: light review of formulas and key concepts for two to three hours. Day 2: brief formula review only, perhaps one hour. Day 1: no studying at all. Prepare your exam day logistics including ID, testing center directions, and what to wear. Get good sleep all week, especially the last two nights. Eat well and exercise lightly. Arriving at the exam rested and calm is worth more than cramming an extra few hours of material into an exhausted brain.
