The Last 48 Hours Before Your Actuarial Exam

A focused guide for the final two days before your actuarial exam sitting.

48 to 24 Hours Out

Do a light review of your formula sheet and summary notes, spending no more than two hours. Confirm your testing center location and plan your route. Gather your identification documents and approved calculator. Set multiple alarms for exam morning. Do not take a practice exam at this point since a poor score will only increase anxiety, and a good score might create false confidence.

The Final 24 Hours

Stop studying entirely. Your preparation is complete and no amount of last-minute cramming will meaningfully change your knowledge base. Instead, it can increase anxiety and fatigue. Spend the day doing something relaxing and enjoyable. Eat a normal, balanced dinner. Avoid excessive caffeine or alcohol. Go to bed at your usual time, not unusually early since lying awake trying to fall asleep increases stress. If you cannot sleep, know that one night of poor sleep does not significantly affect cognitive performance. Trust your months of preparation and arrive at the testing center calm and confident.
