Study Schedule Template: 3-Month Exam P Plan

A week-by-week study schedule for preparing for SOA Exam P in three months.

Weeks 1 to 6: Content Coverage

Week 1: General probability, counting methods, set operations. Week 2: Conditional probability and Bayes' theorem. Week 3: Discrete distributions (binomial, Poisson, geometric, negative binomial). Week 4: Continuous distributions (uniform, exponential, normal, gamma). Week 5: Joint distributions, marginal distributions, independence. Week 6: Transformations, moment generating functions, order statistics. Study 12 to 15 hours per week during this phase, solving 20 to 30 practice problems per topic.

Weeks 7 to 12: Practice and Review

Week 7: Comprehensive review of all topics with mixed problem sets. Week 8: First full practice exam, followed by targeted review. Weeks 9 to 10: Two more practice exams with focused review sessions between them. Week 11: Additional practice exams targeting weak areas. Week 12: Light review and rest. Aim for at least six full practice exams during this phase. Consistently scoring 70% or above on practice exams indicates readiness for the actual exam.
